Chief Information Officer

A rare opportunity is available at a forward-thinking company based in the beautiful Lake District town of Windermere. The CIO role offers the right candidate the opportunity to create and influence company strategy whilst leading a vibrant and disciplined technology function.

  • Influence the executive team and board members
  • Lead the technology team in best practice across many disciplines, including working with partners and suppliers
  • Mentor and coach talented developers and technicians
  • Create great software products and deliver them on time
  • Build resiliency in critical infrastructure

You should have several years experience in leading teams of developers and engineers to create and maintain bespoke software platforms and resilient infrastructure. Being creative is essential, however you must also have the leadership and discipline to install great working practice whilst maintaining an energetic and cohesive team that thinks “customer first”.

As CIO you will have autonomy to build and grow your own function and be an important member of the Executive Team of a fast growing and profitable company that routinely achieves growth of 40%+ per annum and that has been trading over a decade.

The environment is tight-knit and non-political and as such your communication style will need to be open and approachable. You will need to be a truth seeker that is fully committed to what your customers, both internal and external are striving to achieve and develop trust and confidence from your team. Your background should cover the following:

  • The ability to make friendly and empathetic calls to older and vulnerable people.
  • The ability to use your communication and problem-solving skills to determine a customer’s well-being and whereabouts when necessary.
  • Good listening skills so that you can understand and build relationships with our customers.
  • A clear and friendly telephone voice.
  • A keen attention to detail when inputting customer data and listening to and recording customer voicemails.
  • The ability to listen to and communicate effectively with a customer’s friends, family or support workers.
  • Excellent computer skills.
